When Llorens Torres resident Karol Oviedo was first invited to attend Robinson School in the sixth grade, the School agreed to cover the cost of her tuition and San Juan Rotary offered to cover the cost of books, uniforms, lunches, and other school-related expenses, totaling $2000 per year. Through the years, we witnessed how Karol made the best of her opportunity and has blossomed as a young lady and honor student as she prepares for college at Emory University.
The scholarship program has been expanded so that in the current 2015-16 year, three students from Llorens afforded the opportunity to attend the private school. Robinson has been  successful in raising funds for the tuition expenses of these students, but the students still need the books, uniforms, and miscellaneous expenses covered (the cafeteria caterer has agreed to cover the lunches.) Also needed is a used laptop computer for one of the students. The funds needed for these students is about $1000 per student - $3000 total. If you would like to contribute to the future of an underprivileged and deserving student, you can make a donation and charge it to your Rotary account earmarked: Robinson Scholarship.
