Upcoming Rotary Club Business Meeting

The Future of Paper Money: Upcoming Rotary Presentation

Introduction

Dear Rotarians,

Upcoming Presentation

On Tuesday, our club will have the opportunity to explore an engaging topic: the Future of Paper Money. We are pleased to announce that economist Vicente Feliciano will be sharing his insights on this subject. As our society continues to move toward becoming increasingly paperless, understanding the future role of paper currency is both timely and relevant.

Further Details

Jorge and Enid will be sending additional information about the presentation soon. Please keep an eye out for their communications to stay updated on any new developments or logistical details regarding the event.

Invitation

We encourage you to invite your family members and friends to attend this interesting presentation. It promises to be an enlightening discussion, and we look forward to seeing you all there.

Yours in Rotary,

Juanita

Club Conversation: Relevancy, Visibility, and Accessibility

Overview of January 27 Meeting

On January 27, our Rotary Club convened for a dynamic and thought-provoking meeting centered on three foundational pillars: relevancy, visibility, and accessibility. The conversation aimed to clarify our club’s identity and amplify our impact within the community.

Defining Our Club’s Identity and Impact

Members engaged in a dialogue about what we aspire to be known as a Rotary Club. The discussion emphasized the importance of increasing our influence by hosting purpose-driven speakers, particularly those addressing issues highly relevant to Puerto Rico’s emerging businesses and community leaders. In addition to speaker events and forums, we reaffirmed our dedication to hands-on service through causes that are deeply meaningful to our membership. These include support for Villa Mayo Schools, Juan Bosco School, Cortez Foundation, Pro Pass Project, Habitat for Humanity, and the annual Thanksgiving luncheon with the Boys & Girls Club. The possibility of expanding our service projects to include initiatives in the Dominican Republic was also explored.

Upcoming Signature Events

Looking forward, the club previewed two major upcoming events: the Women’s Awards in March, held in partnership with AAW, and the Citizen of the Year Award in April. These events will serve as important opportunities to celebrate leadership and service within our community.

Enhancing Relevancy and Visibility

Much of the conversation focused on strategies to bolster our relevancy and visibility. Members discussed ways to engage younger generations, strengthen our social media presence, and more effectively communicate the club’s achievements and ongoing work. Opportunities for increased visibility included participating in community events and creating additional touchpoints for Rotarians to connect and become involved in club activities.

Improving Accessibility Through Membership

Under the topic of accessibility, Rob (Robert) Bolt shared his intention to develop a proposal for a tiered membership model. This initiative aims to make Rotary more accessible and inclusive, meeting members and potential members where they are today.

Conclusion

The meeting was marked by a collaborative and forward-thinking spirit, grounded in practical action. The discussions and initiatives set the stage for an exciting and impactful year ahead for our club.
