Dear Rotarians,
Next week we will receive the District Governor 2024-2025, who will take the oath of incoming board members and we will hear our president, Delia Colorado, give her final report. To continue with our tradition, we ask that past club presidents come wearing their past president medallions or Paul Harris medallion to escort the incoming club president to the podium. Business ataire is requested for this meeting. Let’s give a hardy Rotary welcome to the incoming board and our sincere thanks to the outgoing members.
Last Tuesday 18 we had the Recognition and Awards Lunch, where all the members of our Board of Directors received thanks and recognition for their hard work during this past year. Thank you again, my Board of Directors, for a job well done and all the help you have given me.
We had a guest, Wilfredo Bachour, who is interested in becoming a member of our Club. As speakers, we invited Denise Dolan and Kathleen Hogan from Fisher House Foundation who are visiting Puerto Rico to spread the word about their new project. It consists of building a large "home away from home" for the veterans' families while they are hospitalized in the VA Hospital. The Foundation raises money and constructs the building, which is later passed on to the Veterans Administration to administer. The veterans' families use these facilities as often as necessary, with no cost to them. There are almost 100 houses around the U.S. built by Fisher.
You are invited, again, to participate in next week's change of command lunch at AFDA, on Tuesday 25th of June. This is going to be a very important meeting because the new District Governor, Marco A. Belen Thillet is coming to take the oath of the new Board of Directors. Please be sure to attend the meeting and thank you very much for always cooperating by being present.
