Our guest speaker, Olga Ramos, President of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Puerto Rico, assumed her position in 2017 after leadership years with Walmart, including General Manager for Sam's Club. She is recognized as a top executive, and important leader in community service and one of the island's authorities on charter schools She is a graduate of UPR and holds a law degree from InnterAmerican University Celebrating its 50th Anniversary of bringing positive academic, personal and professional goals to the more than 390,000 marginalized children under 18 years of age, the Clubs provide a safe, positive and creative after-school service through educational programs, post-secondary support and career development. The support of charter schools, a hot-button issue nation-wide, was a topic that created a lot of interaction between Ms. Ramos and San Juan Rotarians. |
