The Next Meeting will be held on FEBRUARY 24 in the AFDA Club
Guest Speaker: Author, artist, and newspaper columnist, Maximo Cerame-Vivas, Ph,D., will speak on, "Life in the Universe and in Hot-dark Oceanic Depths."
This week’s guest was Jeffrey Traylor the featured speaker for this year's RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) in Guajataka. This inspiring motivational speaker was born with Cerebral Palsy and his accomplishments and can-do spirit is a true inspiration. The native of Nebraska;’ss parents had hope and faith and traveled to Denver to seek help for their son. Jeffrey was finally able to stand and walk with the help of specially designed crutches after 14 years in braces. Among his achievements, despite his disability, are parachuting from 12,500 feet, walking across the USA from San Francisco to the Brooklyn Bridge, averaging 18 miles a day with stops along the way as a spokesman for Rotary's projects. Oh yes, a few other achievements: climbing Pike's Peak and finishing a 26 mile marathon in 7 hours and 17 minutes. Jeffrey said to do not allow negative people to stop your goals. You do not have to win to fit in and, leave the perfect to God.
