Dear Rotarians,
Next week our speaker will be Dr. Segrid Mendez, Clinical Researcher, Harvard School of Public Health, who will present her research project on chronic diseases that affect senior adults and seeks to identify those factors that trigger the disease. It should be an informative meeting and will comply with one of Rotary's areas of focus. This meeting will be held at the club, and we look forward to welcoming you and any guest you would like to invite.
Our meeting this week was via Zoom. We had as visitors Emma Gonzalez Monroig and Annie Evans, they both have requested to join our Club. Our speaker, Dr. Grayson Brown, could not attend the meeting at the last minute due to technical problems with his computer. However, Steve Waterman who has collaborated with the mosquito projects, gave us an orientation on dengue, for which there is an alert in Puerto Rico because it has escalated to the levels of an epidemic. He said there are 4 types of dengue, and we should take every precaution by using the proper clothes, repellent and clearing the surroundings of our homes of any containers where the mosquito could grow.
Please remember the Rotary Conference to be held on June 28, 29 and 30 at the Costa Bahia Resort in Guayanilla. You may join for the entire Conference or for individual events.
Next Tuesday will be our regular lunch meeting at AFDA, please make it a point to come to listen to Dr. Sigrid Mendoza and her research on diseases.
