Happy New Year 2024! Hoping you had a very enjoyable Christmas, New Year's Eve and Three Kings Day.
We started our new year with a very good attendance at last Tuesday's lunch meeting at AFDA. We were happy and busy exchanging notes on how each one spent our holiday time.
The meeting started with a musical invocation by Jose Ismael Irizarry, who played the flute for us. There were several guests: Juanita invited Gary Morris; Daven Michaels invited Liz; Robert Bolt invited Augustina Rapetti and Georgina Fakoukaki; and we had the visit of Jessica Lambert from the South Bend Rotary Club in Indiana. As always, we gave them a warm welcome.
For me it was a very special day, Tito and I were celebrating our 59th. wedding anniversary, and we did it together with our fellow Rotarians in a very festive and friendly atmosphere. Thanks for the applause.
The speaker for the day was Jose Luis Rivera, President of the PR-USA Chamber of Commerce who gave us an overview of all the efforts to bring together the different Chambers of Commerce existing in the States, especially those that have as members Puerto Ricans and Latinos, with the principal purpose of uniting the diaspora to the Island.
Next Tuesday is our night for socializing at Tinto y Blanco in Hato Rey at 6 p.m., I hope to see you there. Please bring members of your family and/or friends. Until then, have a great time.
