Dear fellow Rotarians,
Next week we will meet at the AFDA club, and the speaker will be Donald “Don” Marx. He will give us an interesting recount of his experience as a consultant in Afghanistan. Don was a frequent visitor in our club and a member of the Washington DC Rotary club. Feel free to invite family and friends to this current event talk.
Hope you had a nice week. Last Saturday we went to the Rio Piedras Clubhouse to celebrate the Paul Harris Gala at which many of us were recognized for our advancement in the Foundation's membership. Several of us were there, Maria with her husband Carlos, Juanita, Gorgie, Gerry and Tito and me. The Governor, Maria del Carmen, was also there with her husband Tony. It was a very elegant activity, the company was superb, the food and the music were exceptionally good.
On Tuesday there was this month's Zoom meeting, in which we had Rushton Hurley from the eClub in Silicon Valley talk about Creative Solutions for the Global Good, which has been described as very inspirational, to say the least.
Next activity: 5K for Peace, against Polio. That is next Sunday at: Complejo Deportivo Edgar Martínez in Higuillar, Dorado, March 3, 2024.
Next week we will meet again at AFDA. Until then, have a happy week.
Rushton Hurley is a master storyteller with a very important story to tell. As director of Innovation, as a leader in the Rotary movement, as a teacher, speaker he can combine all these elements to help students, Rotarians and anyone who can listen think in more creative ways. He suggested that students partner up with students from other schools to exchange ideas. So please let,s keep the discussion open and see how we can collaborate.
