Will be joining us for our meeting on April 9. These Rotarians worked with our Club and P.E.C.E.S. to do a Rotary International Global Grant in Punta Santiago, a project that helped 10 small businesses re-open by buying the equipment they needed and training them in budgeting and planning. The Grant also trained 50 underserved kids to be carpenters. Twenty-Five Rotarians from District 5170 and 5220, who funded this project, will be traveling to Puerto Rico to visit the project. We hope all San Juan Rotarians attend next week's, April 9th, meeting to welcome our California partners.
Fellow-Rotarian, Dr. Julio Soto, retired surgeon, gave a concise explanation of the damage to body cells caused by loss of protein and glucose that can cause diabetes. While much of his talk was scholarly, his audience was responsive as it was well aware of the damages that diabetes can create. There was a lively Q & A session on this far reaching topic.
