Remember, next week December 12 we will meet at Tinto y Blanco, and after that, Tuesday 19 will be our Christmas party at AFDA. Make it a point to come, the meetings are much better if you attend.
Tito and I went on Saturday to the District's Christmas Party at the Guayama Club. It was a lovely and lively party, lots of music, healthy food, good prizes in the raffle and excellent company. There was coquito for everybody, with varied flavors such as parcha and turron. We must congratulate the organizers and Maria del Carmen, our Governor, for such a nice opportunity to be with fellow Rotarians.
In our meeting this week we received a visit from Kent Kramer, from the Downtown Indianapolis Club. He is in Puerto Rico in charge of setting up a Goodwill store. There are many in the States, but we do not have one here. We have already invited him to be our speaker next semester, so that he can tell us all about his job, those new stores and how he became a Rotarian. Another visitor was Dr. Annie Evans, wife of Robert Bolt; it is so nice that Rob invited “his better half” again. Also visiting was fellow Rotarian Awilda Le Duc who is going to join us, welcome, Awilda. Aurora Navarro, who is studying at the Conservatory of Music, also visited. She is working with Rob Bolt on creating a Rotaract Club, and she will be singing at our Christmas Party, accompanied by a pianist.
The Executive Director of Voces, Mrs. Lilliam Rodriguez could not be our speaker this week because she had to leave for the States. We will make sure to invite her again.
For a moment, I want to move forward to January 2024, so that we take notice of the changes. meetings we will have for that month. Please enter the dates in your calendar. There are two basic changes: we will be going to Tinto y Blanco on the third Tuesday of January, that's Tuesday 9th, instead of the second as usual. And the last Tuesday, the meeting will be by Zoom:
Tuesday 2: No meeting
Tuesday 9: AFDA
Tuesday 16: Tinto y Blanco (as if it were the second Tuesday)
Tuesday 23: AFDA
Tuesday 30: Zoom.
