Hola.
It has been a busy week for the Board of Directors as well as members of the Club.
As always, it is a pleasure to come to social gatherings with our Club Members and Tinto y Blanco this week was, as usual, very enjoyable, good wines, good food, good people!
The project of the blankets for the Pediatric Hospital finalized. Juanita, Pepito, Tito and I, together with a group from the Lions Club of Hato Rey, went to deliver them to the Hospital and visited one of the children's wards. They were so happy to receive them because the Hospital collects the things donated for the parents and distributes them as needed. We alone donated 15 blankets thanks to the generosity of those that contributed at a donation we took during one of our lunches and the help of Maria, who went to one of the department stores and purchased them.
It has come to the attention of the Board of Directors that many members appear in arrears in their bill payments. We have asked the Treasurer to send a detailed invoice to each one, containing the past overdue invoices in detail. For those members that have been given instructions to bill their credit card, you must send the security code immediately (if you have not done so) to Luis Ramirez (luisr@prsoft.com) so that he may charge your card directly. And the rest of you, members, please send your checks as soon as possible.
Juanita Valentin-Morris oversees finding the speakers for our lunches. She asks that for next year you help her by suggesting the names of people you would like to listen to. Please contact Juanita (valentinmorris.juanita@gmail.com) directly or send the suggestions to me. We need to find good speakers for next year.
Christmas is near, there are already Christmas trees and decorations everywhere. Christmas in Puerto Rico is considered to be the longest ever. We already are filling our calendars with the season's activities. I want to share with you the date for our District Christmas Fiesta on December 2 at the Club Rotario de Guayama from 11 AM to 4 PM. It is a lovely ride from San Juan to Guayama, and their club is centrally located and very nice for parties. Please let me know if you are going, but you also must register on Club Runner. You can bring a "neverita" with your preferred refreshments of drinks, your chair, musical instruments, and of course your family and guests. It will be only $25 per person!
We are also preparing for our Christmas party, December 19. Let us make it a well-attended and memorable one. Will give you details later.
As always,
Delia
