SPEAKER: Will Wynn, award winning, two-term Mayor of Austin, Texas, the 11th fastest growning big city in the US, under his watch, will tell us why he moved to San Juan and who he is bringing to the Puerto Rico market.
Will Wynn, Architect, two-term Mayor of Austin, TX and Chairman of Austin Energy (the 9th largest public power utility in the country-about the size of PREPA) told us of his decision to move to Puerto Rico. As the hub of the Caribbean, Puerto Rico has everything to attract investment opportunity. The weather is outstanding, especially considering the 102-degree temperatures his native Texas endures nine months a year. Mr. Wynn serves on several boards including chairing that of Pinnacle LED Solutions, who he is bringing to the local market. He also maintains an interest in commercial real estate investments.
The Rotary Foundation was the topic last week when Rotarian Jose Rivero Olmedo spoke of the Matching Grants that provide funds for international service projects of Rotary Clubs and Districts. One such project, sponsored by District 9110 in Nigeria and the Mount Airy, NC Club provided water, clothing, food, drugs, toilets and farming implements to a leper colony in Africa, benefitting over 1000 people. As a result, dignity has been restored to the lives of those individuals who, after many years of neglect, will have access to basic amenities.
