Hola.  Many members showed up for lunch today, which was very good and was accompanied by a very interesting talk by our fellow Rotarian Robert Bolt, Chief Mentor at Center for Design Thinking & Innovation in Education, on What's Wrong with Education and How do we fix it.  He moved to Puerto Rico four years ago and is very knowledgeable on what ails our education system.  He invited Enid Reyes to join him in the presentation and together they gave a very encompassing picture of the problems that we all would like to see solved.   

 

Another visitor was Antonia Jimenez.  Enid and Antonia were both Rotarians in the U.S. and are in the process of joining our Club. 

 

Rob also informed us that a group of young people showed up at the meeting he held last Friday with the purpose of creating a Rotaract Club.  Good luck with the group, Rob. 

 

I want to take this opportunity to invite you to the November 7 lunch meeting where the guest speaker will be Kim Casiano.  She is the wife of our fellow Rotarian Juan Woodroffe. Kim is a Puerto Rican who has had many diverse opportunities in life, amongst them being a member of the Board of Directors of Ford Motor Company, and I think it will be very interesting to listen to her story.  Please put it in your calendar and do not forget to join us.
