Dear Rotarians: This week, FR Ramón Barquin offered a very interesting presentation of Bluetide Puerto Rico, Inc., and the blue economy. The Blue Economy is the sustainable use of marine resources for economic growth, job creation and improvement of the quality of life of citizens living in coastal areas, while preserving the health of marine ecosystems. Ramón explained how Bluetide Puerto Rico is making this a reality in Puerto Rico and the Caribbean. We also had the induction ceremony for three new members of our club. We honored them and their sponsors. Please follow in their steps and sponsor new members to our club. On March 14, 2023 we will have our first Distinguished Citizen Award ceremony at AFDA at 6pm-8pm. It will be a fine dinner with great company and honoring our Distinguished Citizen, Ana María García Blanco from Instituto Nueva Escuela. For those that cannot join us in person, we will have the event transmitted live via our zoom link (https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89918463064?pwd=N29NczAyQUhTRkNuYzAxTm5SVDI1Zz09) The Board of Directors and I are counting on all your support and commitment to achieve our goals and take our club into the future. We are still looking for volunteers to join our five committees. Please let me know which one you would like to join. If you have any concerns or issues, please bring them to my attention along with your ideas and recommendations. My phone is 787-525-4544 and my email is maria.rivera@pr.gt.com.
