Elias Gutierrez, Ph.D. a leading voice in economic analysis with a Masters Degree from Cornell University, spoke on Puerto Rico's financial reality and began with the $73 billion debt as a starter. Tax reform, public restructuring, migration, and the suffering or disappearance of the middle class were just a few of his topics. Dr. Gutierrez emphasized the importance of the opposing political parties getting on the same page to get the country out of the current financial morass. Thanks to Dr. Norman Maldonado who brought us this timely and thought provoking speaker.
