Our speaker will be Ms. Enid Reyes, executive director of PR Education Foundation. Her topic will be “Move communities forward one step at a time.” Ms. Reyes is a dynamic speaker and will keep everyone engaged.
Yours in Rotary, Juanita June 4th speaker will be Past Club President, Maria de los Angeles Rivera, who will present her new venture “EmpowerArt.”
Before I start with the week's summary, I take this opportunity to give Maria, our past president, on behalf of all our members, our deep condolences for the passing of her mother. The burial was in Ponce where she lived. Maria, we feel for you, big hug!
Last Tuesday we met at AFDA, and it was a lovely get-together of old and new friends. We had several guests: Laura Duong, Emma Gonzalez, Enid Reyes (who is moving from California and will become our fellow member), Annie Evans (Rob's wife) and Nayda Cumpiano (Gerry's sister). As speaker we had Harvard School of Health Dr. Sigrid Mendoza, an Aguadillian who is conducting a research program on the Island, quite interesting, and some of our members signed up to be included in the study.
Please remember to reserve May 21st at 6:00 PM at AFDA for the Citizen of the Year Award Dinner. Also, don't forget to attend next week's meeting at AFDA. Hope to see you there!
