LAST WEEK

Newly appointed Superintendent of the National Park Service in San Juan, Randy Lavasseur, comes with a 15-year career in Federal government service, including the Bureau of Reclamation.  A strong advocate of the mission to protect our historic sites, one principal aim is to engage the community in protecting the Service is by getting involved in being a caretaker and/or contributor.  It was very interesting to learn of the millions of people who have visited our El Morro (Castillo San Felipe del Morro) a world-renowned fortification system whose construction began in 1533.
